1. How would you describe Solid Surfacing?

Solid Surfacing is a non-porous acrylic or polyester product. A mineral filler is suspended in the acrylic products, and the polyester products have a non-ferrous metal or mica filler added.

2. Do custom edges perform as well as postformed edges?

Yes. Elegant and intricate edges can be sculpted for any solid surface. Custom Edges are also warranted under the manufacturer under conditions of normal commercial and household use.

3. Why should a home owner or project manager purchase solid surface instead of plastic laminate?

All solid surface products are reparable and can be maintained to look new by the owner. Solid surface also increases the value of the home or building in which it is installed.

Solid surface is non-porous with inconspicuous seams that will not sustain bacterial growth. Solid surface is more flexible in design and fabrication. Solid surface sinks can become integral part of the countertop.  All solid surfaces come with a ten year limited warranty.

4. Will heat damage my solid surface countertop?

Yes. Any hot pans or cooking appliances (electric frying pans, crockpots, etc.) should have a hotpad or trivet between the appliance and the countertop.

When pouring boiling water into a solid surface sink, we suggest filling a bowl full of cold water and pouring the boiling water into it allowing the waters to mix as it overflows into the sink.
